By bringing together a diverse cohort of researchers, we aim to strengthen the ties within our academic community and explore cutting-edge research areas in the field. Participation is by invitation only.

The workshop will explore classical and quantum aspects of gravity and encourage stimulating discussions among researchers in related areas. The program will feature both invited and contributed presentations, and we strongly encourage early-career researchers to submit abstracts for contributed talks.

Registration is now open via the workshop website: https://sites.google.com/view/nwgisi/home. Registration is to be done ONLY through the official website.

A one-day outreach event is being organised in memory of Prof. Jayant Vishnu Narlikar (1938–2025), the renowned astrophysicist known for his pioneering contributions to cosmology. He is remembered for the Hoyle–Narlikar theory of gravity, significant work on quasi-steady state cosmology, and for his efforts in popularising science across India. The Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA) was established under his leadership, through which countless students and researchers have been inspired over the years.

The event will consist of Popular-level Lectures by renowned Scientists and Science Communicators, Panel Discussion, Science Show/Quiz, Library/Museum visit as well as Poster Competition by the participants focusing on Astrophysics and Cosmology. Through this event, his legacy will be honoured and celebrated.

The target audience for the event will include high school students from classes XI and XII (accompanied by a teacher representative), college students with a background in physics, and student and staff members of the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), Kolkata.

This intensive 3-day workshop on Multiscale Fluid Dynamics is designed for graduate students, researchers, and professionals interested in gaining a deeper understanding of the principles, methods, and real-world applications of fluid dynamics. The workshop will cover both fundamental theory and modern computational tools used to simulate and solve complex fluid flow problems. In that program, a number of experts from different fields are expected to deliver the lectures. We also encourage Master student’s from Institutions/Universities all over India to participate in this workshop.

This two-day scientific meeting shall focus on some of the frontier problems in the current era of cosmology, drawing primarily upon the expertise of young researchers working in some of its modern thrust areas. It aims to serve as an engaging platform for exchanging ideas and striking up future collaborations among the present and past members of the cosmology research group at PAMU, ISI Kolkata. Participation is by invitation only.

We are pleased to inform that we will organise a two-day scientific meeting on ‘RECENT TRENDS IN APPLIED SCIENCES‘ on 04 & 05 January 2024 at Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata. The objective of the meeting is to present and discuss recent advances in different fields of applied sciences. In the meeting, several experts from different fields are expected to deliver the lectures. We also encourage young researchers, research scholars and Master’s students from Universities/ Institutions all over India.

There is no registration fee for all the participants. Food will be provided during the program in the ISI Guest House. Total number of participants is limited to 40. Those who are interested in participating in the program and delivering a lecture, kindly send an email to smrtas00@gmail.com .

7th International Conference on Complex Dynamical Systems and Applications provides a platform for young researchers to interact with the experts in complex systems. It focuses on the current progress and challenges on the fundamental issues of nonlinear dynamics and applications in physical, chemical, biological and engineering systems, and complex behaviour of natural systems, climate, ecology and brain in the framework of network of dynamical system, and recent topics of extremes, tipping and predictability in nonautonomous systems.

The meeting has a scope for young researchers to present a limited number of contributory talks and posters besides the invited talks.

ICQIF-2022 will focus topics related to the interface of quantum informationand other related areas in addition to fundamental issues of quantum mechanics and quantuminformation.
Through ICQIF-2022 we are looking forward to provide the desired opportunity of numerousinteractions among the researchers of different domain within the scope of quantum informationand foundations (QIF) and those employing QIF as tool in various fields of knowledge.

We are honored to organize an International Conference on Condensed Matter Physics to commemorate 125th Birth Anniversary of Professor Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis, founder of Indian Statistical Institute with the aim of advanced research as well as teaching in Statistics and other allied disciplines. The primary objective of this scientific meeting is to bring together students and expert researchers from academia for exchanging new ideas, latest achievements and for establishing new collaborations in the emerging fields of Condensed Matter Physics. Special emphasis will be given on Nanoscience where Quantum Physics and Nanotechnology meet.

The program will include Invited talks, Contributed Oral and Poster presentations. Participants can also join without any presentation. We hope this event will create a highly stimulating learning experience which is of long lasting value to the students’ future careers.

Participants are encouraged to apply as early as possible following the Registration link. We plan to have around 75 participants and set Registration Fees for out-station and local participants as Rs. 2500/- and Rs. 1500/-, respectively. Local hospitality will be provided to all the participants. Limited travel supports are also available. For logistics there may be a shortlisting of participants if the number of applicants is too high.

This conference will provide a platform to young and senior researchers to interact with distinguished scientists and to exchange ideas on the emerging trends of research in the field and exploring the scope of future collaborative research.

The aim is to have all the researchers (past to present) of the Physics and Applied Mathematics Unit meet together in an interacting academic atmosphere and display their respective research works (related thoughts) in an untrammeled way.

The school will mainly cover the emerging fields of Condensed Matter Physics and special emphasis will be given on Nanoscience where Quantum Physics and Nanotechnology meet and the primary object of this event is to bridge the post-graduate course with PhD by interacting through a few advanced level classes where mainly MSc final year and PhD students are expected.

We hope this School will create a highly stimulating learning experience which is of long lasting value to the participants’ future careers.

Students are encouraged to apply as early as possible following the Registration link. We plan to have around 30 students. There is no registration fee. Application of Statistical methods in Cosmology and Astrophysics is in vogue for quite some time now. With the advent of huge amount of data, statistical techniques have become indispensable tools in data analysis in Cosmology and Astrophysics. Along with existing techniques, proposals for novel statistical tools are also coming up in order to fulfill the growing demand of handling the data more efficiently. In this workshop we would like to focus on three broad aspects: existing and emerging Statistical techniques, their applications to Cosmological data analysis and to Astrophysical surveys. Registration and abstract submission can be done online only. For logistics there may be a shortlisting of participants and contributed talks if the number of applicants is too high. Though this workshop is primarily meant for young and aspiring researchers in this field, a fraction of advanced Masters students are also welcome to apply.
