These policies are built into Windows and can be triggered in different ways:<\/p>\n<h3>Why It Happens<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Local Account Policy<\/strong>: By default, local accounts in Windows may have password expiration enabled (commonly set to 42 days). After this period, Windows forces you to change it.<\/li>\n<li class=\"ps-2\"><strong>Microsoft Account Policy<\/strong>: If you\u2019re using a Microsoft account, the password typically expires every 72 days.<\/li>\n<li class=\"ps-2\"><strong>Organisation\/Work Policy<\/strong>: If your PC is connected to a work domain or organisation, IT administrators may enforce stricter password rotation rules.
