•   Fellow of Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE), 2001.

•   Vasvik award for Electronic Sciences and Technology for the year 1999.

•   The Institution of Engineers (India) awarded the Computer Engineering Division Medal for 1996-97 for the    

    paper “An efficient method of hard and fuzzy clustering of multidimensional data”.
