The international airport at Kolkata is called the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport (Airport code CCU) where one can board international and domestic flights. The airport is along the northern border of the city of Kolkata (slightly to the North East). LOCAL TRAVELS
Details about our campus, including the conference venue and
guest house, can be found here.
BY TAXI
If you are coming from the airport or one of the railway stations, it is better to
hire a taxi from the prepaid taxi booth.
In case you are coming from the airport,
you will find the pre-paid taxi booth inside the airport terminal.
Please mention that you want to go to Indian Statistical Institute
near Bon-hooghly (pronounce: Bon-hoog-lee).
Bon-hooghly is close to Dunlop Bridge.
You have to pay the fare in this booth and the official at the booth will hand over a
slip to you. You have to come out of the airport terminal with the slip. There will be
taxi parks just outside the terminal where you will be allotted a taxi on production of
the slip. These taxis are yellow or white (with some blue borders) in colour.
The West Bengal traffic police maintains a
site
for the pre-paid taxi service.
Our institute hires car from a private operator jetfleet.
You can hire cars from them also, but it will be costlier than prepaid taxi service.
You also have the following options to hire a taxi from anywhere in Kolkata:
